Bachmann Trains - F7A DCC Ready Locomotive - Santa Fe - Ho Scale

The EMD's widely popular F-series diesel locomotive, designed for freight service, is credited by historians as one of the most important locomotives of all time. This Bachmann F Unit, produced by EMD beginning in the late 1930's, is DCC ready with a factory-installed 8-pin socket for DCC decoder installation of your choice (Decoders sold separately). The locomotive is compatible with Conventional DC-Powered Layouts and features a precision motor with dual flywheels, die-cast frame, all-wheel drive, operating LED double headlight per prototype, RP25 wheel contours, and E-Z Mate Mark II couplers. It performs best on 28" radius curves or greater and is in the HO Scale 1:87.

Additional features include a die-cast chassis, operating headlight per prototype, teardrop windows, and separate windshield wipers. The locomotive was successful in convincing rail systems across the United States that diesel locomotives were the future of rail travel and worthy of replacing long-used steam locomotives.
